This is a question I’ve been asking myself since I was a little girl but was only reminded about it today after my sister, who still has contact with my parents (I don’t as they got rid of me when I was a child), mentioned that my mother still fishes in the garbage for used toilet paper and puts it in a bowl on top of the toilet expecting others to use it for wiping their most intimate parts.  It’s so gross! Instead of my mother having a bowl of candy at her house she has a bowl of used toilet paper (and people wonder why I don’t talk to her) – and no, it’s not just toilet paper that she pulled out of the trash that’s in the bowl it also includes the skid marked paper she used to wipe herself – TRIPLE GROSS! I remember when I was nine and saying to her, “Mom the point of toilet paper is to get shit OFF your bum not to ADD more to it.”  But, she didn’t care as she would hide the new toilet paper for herself.

 “Why does she do this” my sister asked me, “I don’t know Heather, why did mom used to pick her nose and wipe it on our food? Why didn’t she allow us to brush our hair? Or let us own underwear? She’s just a nasty person I guess,” was all I could respond with. The truth is I don’t know why my mother is the way she is or why she does some of the things she does, it’s not like my family is poor or environmentally conscious, I just think my mom is evil with a little mix of craziness added in.
